Strengthening bilateral relations with Brunei as Singapore hosts Rapsodi

Annual co-production and meetings between Singapore and Brunei to be held to strengthen bilateral co-operation

  1. Singapore will host Rapsodi, an annual variety show co-produced by Mediacorp’s Suria and Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB) on 27 September 2019.

  2. Featuring artistes and performers from both Singapore and Brunei, the live recording of Rapsodi will be graced by Singapore’s Minister for Communications and Information, Mr S Iswaran; and Brunei’s Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Major General (Rtd) Dato Haji Aminuddin Ihsan.

  3. Themed, “Raikan Juara” (Celebration of Winners), Rapsodi, which is now in its 19th year, will be simultaneously broadcast “live” at 8.30pm on 27 September on Mediacorp’s Suria and Toggle, and on RTB’s Aneka, Sukmaindera and National FM.

  4. Rapsodi is produced under the auspices of the Singapore-Brunei Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Co-operation in the Field of Broadcasting and Information. Officials from Singapore and Brunei will also meet for the Joint Technical Committee (JTC) on Broadcasting and Information on 26 September 2019 to discuss cooperation between Singapore’s Ministry of Communications and Information, and Brunei’s Prime Minister’s Office; as well as co-operation between Mediacorp and RTB. The JTC is co-chaired by Ms Yong Ying-I, Permanent Secretary (Communications and Information), Singapore; and Mohd Riza Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, Permanent Secretary (Media & Cabinet), Prime Minister’s Office, Brunei.
