MDDI's response to Percentage of Critical Services Boards Comprising Members with Professional Experience in ICT Sector

*39 Dr Choo Pei Ling asked the Minister for Digital Development and Information regarding the boards of the operators of critical services in Singapore (a) on average, what percentage of each board comprises members with careers and professional experience in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector; and (b) how will the Ministry improve ICT sector representation on these boards.

Answer

The Government does not have data on the member’s question. It is the responsibility of each board to ensure they have the right mix of skills, knowledge, and experience for their company’s sector and operational context. This includes determining whether and what type of ICT knowledge is required for their business, and is no different from how boards assess the needs for other types of expertise, including legal and finance.
