MDDI's response to PQ on Centralised SGVoucher Digital Wallet to Improve Accessibility
12 January 2026
Parliament Sitting on 12 January 2026
Question for Oral Answer
*67. Mr Ng Shi Xuan asked the Minister for Digital Development and Information whether there are any plans for a centralised SGVoucher digital wallet, such as the GovWallet feature on the LifeSG app, for future disbursements of Government vouchers to improve ease of accessibility, instead of having different links to the vouchers.
Answer
Today, the Government disburses support through various platforms. Beyond our policy objectives, we recognise that different groups of citizens have varying needs and comfort levels with technology, and we take these considerations into account when determining the most effective way to deliver benefits to them.
RedeemSG is a general voucher system that serves various government schemes, including Community Development Council (CDC) Vouchers and SG60 Vouchers. It is designed to be inclusive and convenient, offering a seamless experience where citizens do not need to download an app, and digital and paper vouchers can be spent in the same way. Each tranche of RedeemSG vouchers can also be accessed through its own unique link, making it easy for citizens to share vouchers with household members.
We recognise that it may be challenging for citizens to manage multiple links as more schemes are disbursed through RedeemSG. I thank the Member for his 30 suggestion for a centralised SGVoucher digital wallet, and we will consider this as we refine our digital disbursement strategies for future Government schemes.
