New dialect drama “We Are Number 1”《没马跑》to premiere on 28 March 2025
A brand-new dialect drama “We Are Number 1” 《没马跑》will premiere on 28 March 2025, and will air every Friday from 11.30am to 12.30pm on Channel 8’s dialect belt.
2. The 16-episode drama will feature veteran actors Richard Low, Jeremy Chan, Ann Kok and Mindee Ong in the lead roles, together with the popular young cast of Shane Pow and Gini Chang.
3. “We Are Number 1” 《没马跑》 follows the story of the Ma family’s attempts to keep their traditional soup shop Guifei Yintang《贵妃饮汤》afloat, once a popular haunt known for its delicious soups and warm hospitality but has since seen declining patronage. After a series of twists and turns, the Ma family saves the business with unexpected and heartwarming results, with the help of neighbourhood friends, the Wu and Zhao families. The cast navigates finding new life purposes, business failures, and broken relationships to eventually emerge as “Number 1” in both life and love, forging new paths to success.
Keeping seniors engaged and well-informed

A collaboration between the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) and Mediacorp, “We Are Number 1” 《没马跑》》is part of the ministry’s continuous efforts to keep seniors updated on the latest Government initiatives through entertaining content in dialects that they are familiar with. These include Government initiatives that are relevant to them such as retirement adequacy, active ageing, scam prevention and healthcare initiatives. The main characters will bring the storyline alive in a mixture of dialects such as Hokkien, Teochew or Cantonese, as well as Mandarin.
